Increase in electrical tariff/ Saraki's verdict.

MEMBERS of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) have vowed to resist reported plans by electricity distribution companies in the country to increase tariff by 49.4 percent.



TUC in a statement described the reported plans as “wrong and lacks human face” especially “In view of the present harsh economic realities in the land”.

According to TUC, a number of proposals have already been submitted to the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) pursuant to this objective.

The Court of Appeal yesterday failed to deliver judgment in the case filed by Senate President Bukola Saraki against the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

A female court official told the parties that the verdict was not ready, adding that they would be notified as soon as it is ready.

She gave no details on what informed the development.
